Mag! July, 2009
-Hello
Trae, I am flattered you accepted to be interviewed
for CoverMen Mag!, to start this interview off, please
give me some background information.
Ok let’s
start off I was born in Nebraska on July 20, 1987. I
was raised in Colorado though most of my life. I
am the youngest of the three kids, I have an older brother
and an older sister. Since I was 5 years old I
have played football, track and swimming. When
I was a senior in high school I was the Gatorade fastest
man in football, and received several scholarships to
play football Division 1. I also received scholarships
in Track and Field. I decided to run track and
signed with the University of Colorado, to run the 100
meter sprint for them where I also studied Business
Management and Economics. I ended up living school
after my freshman year to pursue modeling. I was
living in Europe mostly Milan for 7 months and London
for a month. I just moved back from Europe, and
visited friends and family in Colorado. Now I
am living in L.A.
-Let's look back
at how you started modeling, tell me about how you got
"discovered".
After my freshman
year of the college, I was in L.A. people keep telling
me that I should become a model. Well growing
up in Colorado, I have never heard of a male model,
let alone a male modeling making serious money. I
decided to give modeling a try so I ended up traveling
to Miami were I did my first test photo shoot, and let
me tell you I had no idea what I was doing. So
after the shoot I literally got the pictures developed
at Wall-Mart, and took a stake of about 200 photos straight
into the agency’s in Miami. I ended up getting
represented by Ford Model’s in Miami.

-How
did you get your first modeling job? What sort
of impressions did you get out of that particular assignment?

I
ended up getting my first modeling job in Miami. I
went to a casting for Cosmo Magazine for an inside spread
and ended up booking the job. I ended up having
an unbelievable photographer that showed me a
bunch of movements to get the best pictures out of my
body and look.
-Did you have
any idea about what was involved in being a model?
When
I started modeling I thought it would be a big game,
and I would just get a call and show up to the shoot.
I had no idea that you had to go to castings all
over the world, and take Polaroid’s and videos and measurements.
I didn't realize how physically and mentally demanding
a shoot and castings could possibly be.
-Would
you accept a modeling assignment that requires some
nudity? Has it already happened?
Well that
is a very interesting you ask me that. When I
started modeling, I thought taking shots with my shirt
off was pushing the limit for me. Then after doing
more and more shoots, my views changed on the topic.
I started seeing the artistic perspective in modeling
pictures. So now if I do see a nude photo, as
long as it is classy I see nothing wrong with it at
all. I still will not go completely naked, although
I have came pretty close. I have though been offered
some serious money to naked, but I dropped the job very
last minute. Maybe in the future I will.

-What's
the most exciting thing about being a male model?
The
most exciting thing about being a model, I would have
to say traveling the world. I have only been modeling
for a year and half and have been to every major city
in the U.S. and every major city in Europe, which is
amazing considering that most of the people that live
in Colorado never get to see Europe.
-Apart
from modeling, what else would you like to pursue? What
are your professional goals?
Apart from modeling,
I love sports. I am still training quite a bit
for track and swimming. I think next year I will
continue to run track professionally and start racing
again along with modeling.
-How do you
usually spend your spare time and what is the meaning
of fun and have a good time for you?
I
absolutely love to have fun, and am usually a little
on the wild side. I like to go to bars and clubs
and love to go to dinner before I hit up the clubs.
I also like spending time outdoors snowboard,
wakeboarding, attempting to surf.
-Do
you have a personal motto, or song, or quote that sums
up your thoughts about life in a sentence?
I'd
rather be a failure at something I love than a success
at something I hate.
-Thanks Trae for
taking the time to reply to my questions, it was a gift
to me and my readers!
Thanks
so much for contacting me, and I will be happy to be interviewed
by you anytime.
