- Hi Patrick, Welcome to CoverMen Mag!
Let’s start this interview with your background.
Thanks Edo!
I'm born in Stockholm (Sweden). My father is Swedish
and my mother is born in Thailand
with parents from Burma
& India.
I moved to Gothenburg on the West
Coast to live with my father at age 13, Stockholm
became too much to handle for me, the people around me etc.
It was a smart choice as I was very into sports. I played a lot of Ice Hockey and
Soccer everyday and was very talented in both sports, if I'd
continued today with one of these sports I would have played pro-level with the
best in the biz for sure. After my teens in
Sweden I moved to
Spain with my first real love
"Veronica" from the same city as me (Gothenburg). I was based in Barcelona
(Spain)
for almost 2 years in 2000-2002 working night time as a bartender for a very
famous entertainment club called "Baja Beach Club" before getting into the modeling business.
-You now live in India,
I think that several foreigners have the misconception that it is
full of poverty, illiteracy and disease, could you give me a more truthful
image of this country? How is it living in
India?
People who think
India has a lot of poverty,
illiteracy and diseases are totally right. There's a lot of of poverty etc there, but in this big mess there lies a
very special beauty as well. India
has so much culture and background that other richer and cleaner countries are missing
and this is what I love about living in India
and Asia. The truth fullness and unity against
each other. They all seem to know where they are coming
from and doesn’t get lost in the world of money.
I would suggest all people to
travel and visit India.
It really gives you a good perspective how more than 60% of world population is
living under normal living standards...
-I know you define yourself
"Universal Player", could you explain to me this concept?
A "UNIVERSAL PLAYER" is
somebody who is very knowledge and doesn't give up even if things aren't going
his or her way in life...eventually they will. It also means that a person have
found the perfect formula for happiness. The person is happy with
himself/herself in so many different categories, Kind, Open minded, Well
network, Cheerful, Passionate, Stylish, Fun, Daring, Successful, Loved by
people... To be a "UNIVERSAL PLAYER"... it’s difficult
to live up to, because of all these elements a person need to accomplish before
becoming a UNIVERSAL PLAYER, but that’s
what should keep us searching and try harder everyday.
Feeling and being a
"UNIVERSAL PLAYER" in my "OWN RIGHT". It’s like I have my own
belief/religion created by me. And now people can join and adapt
it from me RIGHT HERE & RIGHT NOW! I still have a long way to go and I'm
sure you have as well.... A UNIVERSAL PLAYER IS ALWAYS
LOOKING FOR MORE IN LIFE ;)
-How did you get into modeling?
What made you decide to become a model?
It actually runs in the family,
the modeling life, ha ha... I'm the one who have taken to longest way and gone
deeper than any other family member have. My father used to
be a very popular model in
Sweden at his younger age, he still
looks really good at age 50. He actually got approach by the former owner of
"Elite Models", Johnny Casablanca, but my father turned the option down
for other interests. My older sister started out at age 16 in
Sweden with a smaller agency called
"Baby Boom”. She did some runway work etc
in Sweden until the most
famous agency "Mikas" www.mikas.se in
Sweden took her under their wings.
She
traveled for some work between Germany
and Sweden.. My mother did some runway shows
in Sweden
at younger years.
People always told me I should try
it out as well so I did approach a modeling agency in
my city Gothenburg (Sweden),
did a test shoot with a photographer, but nothing much happened after that with
this agency in Sweden.
My career started in Barcelona year 2001 with "Francina
Models" working for me... It was a really fun and exciting
beginning, and it still is... I currently know taking time to restrategize my business plans
etc by having a long holiday meeting friends all over the world... Just
came out of a relationship that took me very hard emotionally &
mentally..??
-You're a very famous model, besides look,
what do you consider to be the key to succeed in modeling? What do you think
has contributed the most to your success so far?
I'm glad to have achieved as much
as I did within these few years (yes), but there is
still a lot more to do for me. Some of the keys to my success must have been my passion and ambition to
always learn more about the modeling/fashion Business. To become a top model, there are definitely
more qualities needed than just good-looks. Some of these qualities would be,
Dress the game, Great Personality, Flexible, Fast learner, Well-informed,
Happy, be an example for others (the
list is long) Most of all love what you do..
-If you weren't modeling, what
do you think you'd be doing now?
Don't wanna
think of it? I live for today and no regrets of what could have been ;) The thinking of it would ruin the
life I'm living now... I'm happy as it is now and trying to live by it everyday...
-Please share with me some of
the projects you are working on right now.
At the moment I have quite a few
programs under production, I don't want to tell all of them at the moment, I
want things to come as surprise to people. One project is to finalize and publish
my own book and calendar, setting up Ribbsaetermodels India
etc... The list is long, but it’s a plan.
Many of my friends know what I'm
cooking in the pipeline. Some thinking I'm dreamer and some are very positive
to my dreams, but without dreams and goals, there's nothing to live for, except
your family and friends... And that's why we all should dream,
so we can give them the best in life...
-I know you're
the owner of a modeling agency,
Ribbsaetermodels
India,
what
prompted you to follow a career as a professional model manager? Do you have any advice
for aspiring models?
My decision to start an agency came very natural to me. Working 6 years in the biz
with an excellent resume' told me that I could do this job and better than
other modeling agencies in this world. I would suggest models
starting out to keep looking at my blog www.ribbsaeter.blogspot.com and get inspired
strategically. That's what I would suggest for new starting and professionals
models.
-What adjectives would you
use to describe yourself?
What's an adjective I'm
a model????? Haha... (Just joking).. My adjectives
about me would be, Very Friendly, Fun, Caring, Romantic, Wild, Passionate. In
one word WHOLESOME!
-Have you ever done something
embarrassing to attract somebody's attention? If yes, tell me when it happened.
No, never... Not what I can think
of now???? It’s not in my personality.
-Who is your ideal woman? What
kind of woman might seduce you?
In general I have very big
appetite for women of all races and ages (not underage or expired) though,
ha ha.... Women have had a big driving force
in me and my success. Since I'm a very romantic person and really looking for
someone to share my life with. It comes to me very natural I'm always trying to
do the best for my woman.
The only woman who have been able to seduce and
attract me in all kind of ways, MY IDEAL WOMAN,
is my ex-wife Avi Siwa. She is the most amazing
Woman/Person I’ve ever come across and ever will.
That's why I decided to marry her. NO REGRETS! So she has been the important
thriving force to do better, because she wants it all perfect, but life goes on, even after our divorce.
 -Thanks again Patrick and good
luck for your career!
Thank you so much Edo for featuring me on
your website. God bless to you all and keep looking good ;)
Cheers,
UNIVERSAL PLAYER
