-Thanks
Lance for accepting to be interviewed for my online
magazine, to start
this interview off, though you're very popular, please tell
me about your background.
I was raised near
Philadelphia, PA. Went to a small High School,
and went to a Flight Academy directly after graduation.
I fly as an airline pilot as a full time job,
but have been modeling ever since I was a teenager.
Fitness is such a passion of mine, and it culminated
in a very successful side career!
-What
made you decide to pursue fitness modeling as opposed
to being a fashion model?
Well, I've been
asked and told the story many times, about how I was
at a photoshoot early in my modeling career, and was
asked by the art director to pull my shirt off for the
next shot. I complied, and revealed a very scrawny
version of Lance LaMar! Of course, nobody likes
to look bad, and I thought I was not built good enough
to be shirtless in an ad! I think (secretly) I liked
the idea of being sexy in an ad, but I knew I wasn't
pulling it off! LOL So I hit the gym
hard and my body changed and started to become more
the focus at shoots. Every time I was ending up
bare-chested in half the shots.
-Tell
some of your modeling career highlights, when did you
become so popular?
I was proud to be in numerous
Men's Health Books, and my (headless) body was on the
cover of 3 of them. I also really liked doing
the Workout Videos with MegaMuscle Productions, and
the Behind the Scenes videos turned out REALLY HOT too!
We have more projects planned for later this year.
Doing still shots is cool, but putting the physique
in motion on video is awesome! While I am not
so interested in acting, my body LOVES it, and it can't
wait to get in front of the camera!

-I
know you are also a personal trainer, tell me about
your training style and diet strategies to get in perfect
shape.
If you ask anyone that trains under
me, my style might be described as "militant"!
LOL It takes a lot of discipline and focus.
I am driven, and if you train with me, prepare
to take your workout to a whole new level of intensity!
I train real hard, but allow my body to rest for
recuperation. (that's important). And I keep my
diet very clean. If I relax my diet, I pick up
the cardio workouts to offset the calorie intake.
-You
own a personal training gym in Miami Beach, what kind
of clients do you have? How do you motivate them?
The
Gym has clients across all demographics. We have
an even split of men and women, and clients range from
age 21 to 83 years. Average cost of training is
approximately $12,000 a year. I motivate them
by giving them knowledge to work with, and by being
an inspiration myself. (sometimes I just need to pull
the shirt off and show them what can be accomplished!)
LOL
-What do you think about supplements?
Which ones do you use, if any?
I am a big
fan of L-Glutamine, Creatine, Protein, and BCAA's. I
use all of them.
-What are your personal
and professional goals?
I am at the peak
of my fitness profession, so I am cruising. I
would enjoy doing a few more videos in the next year
or so. Concerning personal goals?...I
really want to be a dad!
-How would you
describe yourself as a person? Do you enjoy meeting
new people and your fans?
I enjoy meeting
people. I am a down to earth person, who is loyal
to his friends, and likes to have a good time. When
it comes to fitness I feel symmetry is one of the most
important aspects. And I think if you work hard
on your body, you should be proud to show it off anytime,
anywhere.
