-Hello
Jeffrey, it's a pleasure to interview you again, please
update me on your activities during the last months...
The
pleasure is all mine! Let’s see, what have I been up
to these last few months? I’m still working on my “so
called” portfolio. I’ve done a few photo shoots, been
on a talk show, a few national fitness radio shows and
will be competing in the Musclemania Fitness Model Show
in Las Vegas this November. I’m always trying to add
more content to my website at www.jbeckfitness.com,
speaking of which, I just added a Halloween Theme to
it so go check it out right now! I’ll wait……………oh, you’re
back already! Okay, it’s not that elaborate, but it’s
something I wanted to do to celebrate one of my favorite
times of the year!
-Tell me more about
your calendar, what makes it special? Where can people
buy it?
The unique thing about this year’s
calendar is that it is limited. There is only a short
timeframe in which people can order it and once that
deadline is reached, the orders will no longer be accepted
and there won’t be a second chance to get one. They
will also each be individually hand numbered and autographed
by me, so it makes each separate calendar an instant
collector’s item even when the year 2009 has come and
gone.
Each calendar will contain exclusive photos
that won’t be seen on my website (www.jbeckfitness.com),
which is where you can purchase a copy. The photos are
edgier this time around than they were in my last year’s
calendar, so I’m sure you won’t be disappointed!
-Besides
your calendar what projects are you working on right
now?
Other than still trying to break into
the porno industry (LOL!), I’m getting ready to incorporate
an online personal training feature to my website. It
will offer very affordable training both through email
and webcam. My clients will basically have total access
to pick my brain, so to speak, about fitness. I want
to share my knowledge of health and help motivate others
to be their absolute best! I also wanted to make it
affordable to everyone as we go through these tough
economic times. I’m hopeful that it will be finished
by the end of the year.
-Share
with me some of your professional plans and goals for
the future...
In a nutshell, I just want
to continue to improve upon my website, help others
reach their fitness goals and appear on the cover of
every fitness magazine known to man (is that asking
too much? LOL!).
-On
a more personal side, what are you most proud of in
your life? I know you graduated some months ago....
You
hit the nail right on the head! Graduating from college
is the proudest moment of my life thus far. All the
times I drug myself out of bed and hiked to school 10
miles through 5 feet of snow…what was I, born in the
1930’s? Seriously though, it was a long road for me
and receiving my degree in Exercise Science and Nutrition
was such a great feeling and seeing how proud my parents
were was the icing on the cake. All the sacrifice and
time I put into accomplishing that goal was well worth
it and the memories I have from my college experience
will always be some of the best of my life.
-Tell
me something about your personality, what may bother
you or make you angry?
Well,
I can’t stand Reality TV! I miss the days of turning
on VH1 or MTV and seeing music videos instead of some
washed up actors or rich family fighting and arguing
over who gets to use the bathroom next in some overly
lavish mansion! It makes me want to go back in time
to the 1950’s or 60’s when television shows actually
had a story to it and wasn’t about some douchebags acting
like airheads to get their 15 minutes of fame. Sorry
for the lude remarks, but at least I didn’t say F***!
WHOOPS!
-Have
you ever been on a "blind date"? If yes, could
you tell me what happened?
Oh
boy! Have I been on any blind dates? Unfortunately,
YES! I was set up with this girl by a friend who said
that she (I’ll call her Betsy) was a friend of his wife’s.
I agreed because he said that Betsy thought I was really
hot and wanted to go out with me, which I thought was
strange because I had no idea who she was. So I called
her and set up a date to go watch a movie. On the way
to the theater, she up and says that she doesn’t think
a movie is a good idea because it seems too ‘personal’
for a first date. WHAT?! I shrugged it off and decided
to take her to get something to eat instead. During
dinner, she grills me about being a fitness model and
thinks that the photos on my website are too revealing
and basically doesn’t approve of it. Okay, first of
all, she is the one who wanted to go out with me! I
was just doing her a favor, but tried to stay open minded
about it. Second, after I told my friend how upset I
was that he fixed me up with
her, he told me that it surprised him because he knew
for a fact that she was really easy to get into bed
(that’s not what my intentions were, but found it pretentious
that she grilled me about taking photos of my physique
while she slept around with any person who has a Y-chromosome
and a pulse)! Needless to say, it was the worst date
of my life and thankfully I have a great girlfriend
now.
-What
was the happiest day of your life so far? What happened
that day?
My
happiest day was when the DNA test results came back
from the girl I had a one night stand with and it turned
out the baby wasn’t mine….actually, that’s probably
what the happiest day of my life would be if I played
in the NBA or any other professional sport! Only kidding!
It’s hard to pin point a single happiest day in my life.
I have a lot of happy days (no, not like the hit TV
show in the 70’s starring Ron Howard and Henry “The
Fonz” Winkler). I guess one thing that really stands
out as a happy day was when I won the IKCA Black Belt
Marathon Championships in 2003. No one had even given
me a chance to win and pretty much had written me off
before the competition had even started because I was
from a no-name martial arts dojo from a small town in
Utah. I was behind after the first event, which was
defending myself against attackers from behind me. However,
I knew that if I were to get a perfect score in the
semi-circle portion of the competition
(defense against 5 simultaneous attackers), that I would
be the hands down winner, since that feat had never
been done before in the history of the competition and
it was worth the most points. Well, I ended up getting
the perfect score and went on to win the overall title.
Words couldn’t describe how happy I was! Not only did
all my hard work and practice pay off, but I silenced
all doubters and made my sensei proud! That day will
be etched forever in my memory.
-Thanks
Jeffrey for taking your time to reply to my questions,
I hope to have the chance to interview you again!
Thank
you very much and I look forward to our next chat!
