-Hello
Jan, I am flattered you accepted to be interviewed for
my website, to start this interview off, please give
me some background information.
Hi, you
are welcome, :) Well, my name is Jan Trojan, I was
born in Germany then my parents moved to France when
I was 2 years old, so I grow up there, and now I'm living
in Paris. I studied mathematics in Rennes... :)
hahaha yes I know, boring... and beside my studies I
was a high-level athlete in athletics.
-When
did you begin thinking of modeling as a career? What
was your first modeling experience?
One day,
a woman stopped me in the street and asked me if I wanted
to join her model agency...at the beginning I wasn't
really interested but when she told me how much I could
earn, I started to be...hahaha So I got an appointment
in the agency and they paid me a test, at the beginning
it felt a little strange...well, I guess it's normal...And
after like one week, I got my first job for a sport
brand.
-What did your parents say about
you being a model? How did they react?
They
were laughing, well at the beginning it was an easy
way to make some extra money but I was never thinking
to live from it, so they were never worried. I've
already finished my studies so they are not too scared
about my future, and my career started very fast...
and now they want me to tell them everything. :) -
-Have
you ever worked in Us? Would you accept a modeling assignment
in that country?
I will have my working visa
in early 2009, I already have an agency there (NY),
so I'm gonna do the next fashion week there and afterwards
stay a couple of month.
-What aspect of
modeling is your favorite and what aspect is your least
?
I think my two favorite aspects are to
travel and to meet interesting people, because you don't
travel like tourists, you really live in the countries
as a normal citizen, so you can really understand and
get in touch with the different cultures and learn things
that you wouldn't learn through books or movies. In
the same way, when you travel a lot you don't have time
for your girlfriend, family, friends, and you always
miss birthdays, parties ... etc... So it's not easy
everyday... but I'm not complaining...hahaha, it's maybe
from my French education...hahaha

-Apart
from modeling, what else would you like to pursue? Maybe
an acting career?
Now, I'm really doing my
best for my modeling career, it depends how it's going
on...but everyday I like it more and it's getting more
interesting. So lets see what will happen... Otherwise
I will work in an office doing financial mathematics
things...hahaha... I'm joking, yes maybe an acting
career or at least I'm gonna try...
-Tell
me something about your personality, do you consider
yourself outgoing? Do you have many friends?
I
think I'm quite reserved, I'm not going out a lot anymore.
I'm going out with my friends when I'm back in Paris.
My best friends have nothing to do with fashion, so
when I travel for work I'm just going to the gym, castings,
work, eat and sleep...hahaha... :)
-What
kind of music do you like best? Who is your favorite
singer?
I like all kind of music, so from
Brel to Justice through Coldplay..., especially on parties
I like electro music from France ;). But my real favorite
is Jan Gabareck, he's a Norwegian saxophonist. It's
just music that I can always enjoy, and it's just so
relaxing...
-Do you like to travel? Which
countries would you like to visit?
As I said
before, I love it... I would like to visit Island, I
always wanted to make a trip there. Otherwise I want
to visit New Zeland, Cuba, South Africa... well, all
the world...hahaha
-Thanks Jan for taking
the time to reply to my questions, good luck with your
career!
