-Hello
James, I'm flattered you accepted to be interviewed
for my online magazine, to start this interview off,
please give some background information.
I
grew up in a small Texas town called Hamilton about
45 minutes west of Waco. My had a very large close knit
family. I have 3 younger brothers and 1 older brother
and 1 younger sister and 2 older sisters. Although not
being the oldest it seemed that all my siblings looked
up to me and aspired to have the determination and dedication
that seemed to surround me. I was an honor graduated
in my high school and attended college at Angelo State
University where I ran track for a semester.
-Let's
look back at how you started modeling, tell me about
how you got discovered.
Since I was a freshman
I always wanted to be a model but after my junior year
that dream faded and sports took over my life. However
fate jumped back into play while I was in college. I
joined the fraternity Pi Kappa Alpha and one of my fraternity
brothers told me I should try to model again. So I put
some senior pictures up on Model Mayhem and got discovered
by a scout for NOUS. Two months later I was in LA!

-What
aspects of the modeling career attract you most?
Living
in a small town my ambition was to travel. I figured
modeling would grant me that possibility.
-What
do your family and friends think of your choice
to pursue a modeling career?
My family has
always backed me 100%. Some of my friends are proud
and envy me for having the courage to pack up my bags
and head to the big city. However, some feel that I
should use my brains and not my looks to succeed in
life. I plan on doing both and proving them wrong.
-What
was your first assignment as a model? How did you feel
during it?
My first assignment was an online
underwear catalog. I knew that being in the shape that
I am underwear would probable be my first assignment.
Mom was proud but I told her she had to be a member
of the website to see the photos lol.
-What
are some of your professional goals as a model? What
kind of campaigns would you like to do?
I
am only 19. Right now I do not mind doing the small
stuff until I have developed my look and learn how to
work the camera. I am taking this as a continuation
of college and this is my freshman year. I'm hoping
that after my development I can pursue campaigns such
as Hugo Boss, Dolce and Gabbana, Armani Exchange, etc...
-What
are some characteristics of your personality? Which
adjectives would you use to describe yourself?
I
am a very well rounded nice guy and seem to have that
"I get along with everybody" aspect to me.
I always seem to look past the negative traits of people
and focus on the positive. Determinated, Ambitious,
Competitive and Confident.
-Do you have
a personal motto that sums up your thoughts about life
in a sentence?
I have 2 actually: "The
reason people fail instead of succeed, is that they
trade what they want most for what they want at the
moment" "Those who say something should
not be done, should not get in the way of those doing
it"
-How do you stay fit James? What
sport do you practice?
In Texas
I was the state champion in the hurdles in 2008. That
lead me to run track for a semester in college. When
I am not playing basketball at the gym I am running
at the track listening to "the randy Rogers band
" on my Ipod.
-Thanks again for taking
the time to reply to my questions, good luck for your
future challenges!
