Brandon's Confessions

Rebel Spirit Clothing

-Hello Brandon, thanks for accepting to be interviewed for my website, to start this interview off and to get to know a little more about you, tell me something about your childhood and the first years of your life.Brandon

Growing up could be what you call an adventure. I was raised in Southern California in Glendora, which is about 20 min east in Pasadena, I have one brother who is about 2 years older. I am the youngest and yes I am a momma's boy. My father died on Nov. 4th 1981 only four months after I was born on July 10th. He committed suicide, but as I get older I begin to realize that in a way it may have been a blessing. I only share this because it makes me who I am. I learned from peoples mistakes growing up. I stayed away from drugs and alcohol. On occasion will have a drink, but will not be stupid and drive intoxicated. I am addicted to sports. I love all sports, I can sit and watch ESPN all day. I try everything at least once because I want to be able to compete at a high level. I went to a Christian School till I went into Junior High. I don't remember a whole lot growing up due to the fact I have ADHD. Yes I was tested and not self diagnosed.

-Do you remember your first modeling photo shoot and how did you get into modeling?

My first photo shoot was this clothing line, ugh I can't remember the name of the clothing line. But, I would never wear the clothing if you know what I mean. Just not my style a lot of stripes and bright colors. I went into a small agency called Crew Men Models in Los Angeles that used to be located off 3rd Street, and La Cienega. I was always told you should model but really modeling didn't pick up until probably the last couple of years, when I signed with Next Model Management in LA. I had a great manager who I have known since the beginning, but now I just do modeling for fun you know.

Brandon

-Please share with me some of your experiences as a model, what do you consider your best achievement so far?Brandon

Some of my experiences, where do I start? I think when it was 2002 when I went to NYC and stayed in Brooklyn was my first big experience. I was with this agency called Aire Models who was not so good. I met some great friends there who I still keep in contact with today, Tim Kilcher who is still a big time model, Korey Duke still going for the acting and modeling, also Jair Carputti who I looked up to like a brother. I mean living in a loft apartment, eating tuna and a cup noodles to save money. I was so young, oh and I forgot to tell you about the cat we thought ran away but found out the cat was dead under one of the beds for a week and a half. I miss that time.

I think going to Miami the second time which was just about a month ago I met some great friends, Phillip Burrow, Hunter Godby, and Josh Sarrazola. These will be friends for life no doubt. I also realized being away from my family and my girlfriend who I love more than life I couldn't be away for months, but most importantly modeling is not what it was. I am not skinny like a coat hanger. I have muscle, you know aren't men supposed to? You can make a living doing it but I can't be on call and drop everything anymore just want more stability.

I am working with a few clothing lines but more trying to help companies get going? I love my relationship with Rebel Spirit Clothing, I just help out as much as I can with them. I know one day I will have a huge campaign with them but don't care about that as much anymore I have done some stuff.

Brandon

I think a few of my biggest accomplishments are:

-Phat Farm 2008 Spring Catalog out right now

-Macy's Passport Runway Show 2007

-Old Navy Runway Show 2007

Rebel Spirit Clothing 2008 till whenever.......I would have to say Rebel Spirit just because I love the people but right now I don't do it for money I love helping the people out there. A close nit family that I am going to be a part of the rest of my life. You will see me everywhere. You know being the face of a clothing line, isn't that what we all want. Stay tuned for that....

-Surely you are a successful model, besides your look, what do you think has contributed the most to your success?

I think the most important thing that has helped me with my success for is having a personality and making the people I audition for remember me. I talk to them: treat them like there ordinary people, a sense of humor when I am on a shoot and not taking it so serious. I also think forgetting the auditions you go on is so important why dwell on what you might get!

-Can you share with me some of your professional projects you are working on right now?

Rebel Spirit Clothing is my main I love Edgar who is part owner and designer he is my boy. Jack and the rest of my team are also amazing.

Brandon

I am a trainer as well, I just love to help people get in shape and feel better about themselves. I also will be starting fire classes in the summer to go into the fire academy, I want to be a fire fighter as well, I got a ton of projects.

I work with my friends Alek and Steph of Ohlalablog.com all the time, they are my favorite photographers just great friends.

-Let's talk about your official site www.waarbroek.com, I think it is very nice and very different from many official sites, what prompted you to put online a website like that?Brandon

I just think most websites are so boring, I just talk about stuff I want to talk about. There is so many funny things and weird pictures out there. I like people to have something different. Why do you like it?

-Which adjectives would you use to describe yourself?

Different, Outgoing, Joyful, Unique, is there a word for I love home makeover edition, and shows that change peoples lives.

-Talking about love, do you think that a relationship can last without sex?

I do think a relationship can last without sex, if you truly love someone for who they are sex is just a plus. Are we talking before or after you get married? I think it can but when sex is good with your other half its a great feeling.

-Where did you go on your last vacation?

I was in Miami but that was modeling. I could say it was last week when I went to my aunts house only a hour and a half away. Just to get away from the same everyday stuff. I just slept and relaxed it was awesome!

-Thanks again for the interview Brandon, I wish you all the best: health, happiness, love and success!
