Mag! February, 2009
-Hello
Adam, I'm flattered you accepted to be interviewed for
CoverMen Mag!, just to start this interview off, please
give me some brief background information.
Well
I hail from Mahomet, Illinois, a small town 2 hours south
of Chicago. I've got 2 sisters and 1 brother who model,
as well. I completed 3 1/2 years of college at the University
of Illinois before I decided a degree wasn't going to
decide my future. I'm temporarily living in Miami before
heading back to Chicago.
-On
starting to model: who discovered you and convinced
you to become a model? How did it happened and where?
My
younger sister was the first sibling signed to an agency
and besides our chromosomes, we pretty much look alike
so I figured I'd give it a shot. My older sister mailed
my mother agency, Chosen, and the great David Love got
me rolling.
-Tell
me about your first modeling experience, what was it
like?
My
first experience was a job for a clothing chain that
only the employees of McDonald's would be allowed to
purchase. My shirt said Mickey D's and I had to make
the most stupid faces. I never knew 2 hours of false
happiness could depress someone so much.
-What
was the reaction of your family about modeling? Were
your family supportive of your choice?
My
family was very supportive of all 4 of us succeeding
in modeling. He won't admit it but I know my lawyer
dad was slightly jealous of me making more than him
in an hour.
-What
were your first impressions of modeling? And what do
you think about the modeling market now? Is it tough
and too competitive?
I
was really excited to be part of an industry where your
paychecks were based on how good your smile was. I wouldn't
say that the market is competitive...to me there is
talent or skill required to consider something competitive.
We, as models, really have no say in how successful
we are. It is all dependent on what a client is looking
for which can get quite frustrating.
-What
are some of your future plans, both on personal and
professional levels?
I
want to keep modeling as long as there is steady work
but I know that it's not an industry to base your future
off of. I've always had an affinity for animation and
cartooning and when I decide to settle down with a career,
I hope to open my own animation studio.
-Tell
me more about yourself, who Adam Tock is? What are your
greatest strengths?
Quad
City DJ's said it best when they said "Welcome
to the Space Jam. Here's your chance, do your dance
at the Space Jam, alright." and that's how I live
my life...I'm actually terrible at basketball but I
love that movie. I also love drinking applesauce from
the jar, not tagging myself in Facebook pictures, and
the Golden Girls. I hate Uggs (especially with sweatpants),
the skin that forms on the top of soup when you don't
eat it right away, and the feeling of biting the wooden
stick in a popsicle. One of my strengths is the ability
to change a bad situation into a good one. For instance,
I got flicked off on my drive home this morning from
a guy I honked at for cutting me off. He then proceeded
to slam into the car in front of him. Now I'm not saying
I telekinetically caused the crash but...yeah I did.
-Are
you a fashion conscious guy? Do you like to dress well
or do you like rugged clothes, jeans and t-shirt?
I
am in no way fashion conscious. I am most comfortable
in jeans and a t-shirt. I'm not the guy you see on the
beach wearing the black socks with sandals but yes,
I let my sister buy my clothes up until last month.

-Are
you into sports Adam? Have you ever tried extreme sports
too?
I
played baseball all through school with one year of
football. I still pitch in summer leagues because I
love the game and won't give it up until a beer gut
starts blossoming. I've never tried extreme sports.
Where I come from, the most extreme it gets is cow tipping
and I don't even think anyone does that anymore.
-Thanks
for sharing your story with me and my readers Adam,
I wish you all the best: health, happiness, love and
continued success!
Thank
you very much and I wish you the same!
